The Coding Supervisor is responsible leading Coding, Audit and Account Resolution Departments. Functional assignments consist of management of facility and professional coding services, handling internal and external auditing, client service, and coding info. This position requires periodic travel to provide on-site coding education to the suppliers and scientific personnel and support with special projects as required. Develops and implements plans to guarantee the accomplishment of established objectives. Supports Regional Director with Coding, Auditing, Accounts Resolution and Income Cycle in meeting strategic objectives throughout the McLaren System. The Coding Supervisor is expected to be a contributing member of the Earnings Cycle Company and demonstrates the philosophy and core worths of McLaren Healthcare in the performance of responsibilities
Necessary Functions and Responsibilities:
· Manages Discharge Not Final Billed (DNFB) and Discharge Not Final Coded (DFNC) for the McLaren system.
· Provides management throughout the system in regard to center and expert Coding, handling internal and external auditing and account resolution inquiries.
· This position is responsible for handling the daily operations of the Coding Department and directing the efficient and efficient process for coding, abstracting, and data reporting of inpatient, outpatient, professional encounters.
· Strong knowledge of health care facility and expert claims processing consisting of ICD-10, CPT, HCPC, PCS, NDC codes and modifiers as well as extensive understanding of UB and 1500 claim edits.
· Strong knowledge of Possibly Preventable Complications (PPC’s)/ Healthcare facility Obtained Conditions (HAC’s), Avoidance Quality Indicators (PQI’s) to guarantee precise APR-DRG/SOI/ROM and their effect and other indications as needed.

Required:
· Associate Degree required in Health Infotech, Accounting, Organization Management or closely associated field in order to understand the effect of the earnings cycle on the efficiency of the health system.
· RHIT or RHIA Certified
Preferred:
· 3 (3) years’ previous coding experience
