Medical Coding Expert/ CPC

InGenesis is presently looking for an extremely qualified Medical Coding Professional/ Certified Expert Coder to work with our customer situated in Columbia, SC. In this function, you will evaluate medical documentation and perform a variety of coding recognitions for several line of work under Medicare.

Task Tasks

  • Determine precision of billing and payment.
  • Reassign and series diagnostic and procedural codes.
  • Compile and analyze stats to identify focus areas for targeted medical evaluation activities.
  • Conduct recognition evaluates collaborating rate changes and adjudication of matching claims.
  • Utilize Grouper, Rover, MDS QC tool, or other suitable software for code recognition.
  • Supply coding assistance to scientific review personnel.
  • Establish needed training or reference materials for review staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Credentials

  • Associate degree in Health Information Management or successful conclusion of evaluation offered by AHIMA or AAPC.
  • Accreditation as Licensed Coding Specialist/ CCS or Certified Professional Coder/ CPC.
  • 1 year of experience in ICD-9, DRG, APC, HIPPS, HCPCS, or CARPET coding and validation.
  • Working knowledge of data processing software application.
  • Knowledge/understanding of medical terms and medical coding.
  • Demonstrated customer support skills.
  • Efficiency in spelling and grammar.
  • Analytical or vital thinking abilities.
  • Capability to deal with secret information.
